Biography

Nishi Kothari is the current President of the South Asian Bar Association of North America (SABA North America), which has approximately 15,000 members across the U.S. and Canada and 32 chapters. SABA North America is the leading legal voice of the South Asian community in the U.S. and Canada. Under Ms. Kothari’s leadership, SABA North America has expanded its affiliation to Europe, expanding to 11 other countries and connecting folks across the globe. Moreover, Ms. Kothari is the Chair of the Collaborative Bar Leadership Academy, a joint initiative of the American Bar Association, its Commissions on Racial and Ethnic Diversity in the Profession, the Hispanic National Bar Association, the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association, the National Bar Association, the National LGBTQ+ Bar Association, the National Native American Bar Association, and the South Asian Bar Association of North America. As Chair, Ms. Kothari heads up this academy this year and all programming. Ms. Kothari is a partner at the Brasher Law Firm based in Houston, TX and heads up the Houston office for the same. She focuses her practice on bad faith insurance litigation as well as personal injury work.
