Biography

Milton Liu, a Stage IV cancer survivor, was born in Kansas and raised in Chicago (hence the terrible accent). He co-founded Kulture Machine, the first production company featured in Filmmaker Magazine’s 25 New Faces of Indie Film, producing the Student Academy Award-winning Jesus Henry Christ and the feature Fireflies in the Garden (starring Julia Roberts, Ryan Reynolds, Emily Watson, and Willem Dafoe).

A Tribeca Feature Screenplay Winner, Disney Feature Fellow, and Fox TV Writing Fellow, Milton wrote and produced Awesome Asian Bad Guys (starring Randall Park, Tamlyn Tomita, Dante Basco, and Yuji Okumoto), created the web series John Hughes Ruined My Life, and directed the short doc I Hate Big Phony. He associate-produced feature films Lucky Grandma and Love & Busking, produced the short film From Here with Jenna Ushkowitz, and wrote the Web3 series Milo the Bored Ape.

His current projects include TV series Tina Chang Goes to Hell! (WB TV) and Hard Ball! (Bound Entertainment), the horror feature Goblin, and the TikTok hit The Red Room (1.2M+ views). He’s also developing Summer of Slam, a documentary uncovering the secret 1986 basketball game featuring NBA legends Magic Johnson, Charles Barkley, and more.
