Biography

Israa Nasir is a psychotherapist, author, and mental health educator whose work bridges the gap between emotional well-being, identity, and personal development. As the founder of WellGuide, a digital platform and community followed by over 350,000 people, Israa has become a leading voice on dismantling toxic productivity and helping people reclaim their emotional lives from hustle culture.

Her debut book, Toxic Productivity: Reclaim Your Time and Energy in a World That Always Demands More (PESI Publishing), explores the emotional toll of our modern obsession with achievement, unpacking how shame, perfectionism, and self-comparison keep us stuck in cycles of burnout and self-abandonment. Through a blend of clinical insight, lived experience, and cultural commentary, Israa invites readers to redefine what it means to be “successful” in a world that constantly demands more.

Israa’s work has been featured in Time, Forbes, and Harvard Business Review, and she has spoken at major conferences and organizations including Google, Microsoft, SXSW, and the Asia Society. Her talks center on emotional regulation, perfectionism, burnout, boundaries, and sustainable leadership; especially for BIPOC professionals, high-achievers, and those navigating identity transitions.

As a third-culture kid raised across Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Canada, Israa brings a globally informed, culturally attuned perspective to her work. She’s passionate about helping people examine their internal belief systems, reconnect with their emotional needs, and make space for a more intentional, meaningful life.

Based in New York City, Israa continues to write, speak, and create mental health content that helps people feel seen, supported, and empowered to shift the way they live, work, and relate to themselves.
